New Stuff

We got 2 new little Edward Gorey hardcovers we've never had before - THE OSBICK BIRD ($12.95) and THOUGHTFUL ALPHABETS HC ($14.95). We also got a COMETBUS collection called ADD TONER ($12.00) and the newest issue, #54.

Brothers John Agbaje (art) and Charles Agbaje (story) dropped off issues #1 and #2 of their comic PROJECT 0. It's a manga-influenced science fiction story chronicling the tale of an orphaned young boy, Owen, who finds himself gifted with the power to create change in the world around him. While trying to find a way back home, he and his only friends have a chance encounter with a mysterious private military organization, The Lancers, and the two saboteurs who would go to great lengths to stop this organization from completing its strange mission. An adventure is set in motion that will shake the foundations of reality. Kelly give the issues two thumbs up. Sample pages, biographies, and history of the world they've created can be found here: http://www.centralcitytower.com

Once again, MYP/Team Weist Auctions end TONIGHT!

Greetings Friends of the Million Year Picnic comic shop,

Tony forgot to tell me, your humble communications nerd, that another Team Weist set of auctions has been up all week!

The auctions end tonight! That's Sunday night, 9/9/2012. And you can find 74 items and group lots up for sale!

http://www.ebay.com/sch/jerryweist/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

Some issues are loose, some in C.G.C. slabs. Ratings are available in the description for each auction.

Alas, I don't have highlights, although glancing through, I see a LOT of Spider-Man, The Flash, and crime comics as well as Action Comics, Adventure Comics, and quite a few Disney comics.

A reminder that as of the most recent auction, we made some minor changes from past auctions. First, we made the loose lots a little smaller - both in quantity and dollar value - to make them more accessible to individual collectors. Second, we've given ourselves 2 more business days for shipping, in large part because of how good you've been at paying promptly. After a large auction, we were finding ourselves faced with getting as many as 100-150 lots out the door on the first available business day. Because the Weistian method of shipping involves time, care, and LOTS of bubble wrap, we were feeling a little pressed to get everything shipped in one business day. So, we are giving ourselves (and the USPS) a little cushion so we can keep getting it right and maintain our perfect record for undamaged CGC containers.

Our thanks again go out to the fine women and men at the Gloucester Post Office for their patience, kindness, and support. They work so hard with us to get your shipments to you smoothly and efficiently.

All the best,

Team Weist

Weekly Shiplist for Wednesday, 5 September 2012

After reading this list, you might be asking yourself, "Self, why are there so many #0 issues in MYP's shiplist this week?" Well, I'll tell ya. DC decided that instead of publishing issue #13, they'd celebrate a year of the New 52 with prequel issues for each series. The serieses will continue with issue #13 NEXT month. So there ya go.

AND, last week we were shorted PREVIEWS September (for November). I don't think they'll be in this week, so we're probably looking at next week. Our apologies!

This week we are expecting to be shorted the following:

GTO THE EARLY YEARS VOL 14 TP
HYPERNATURALS #3
ROBERT JORDAN WHEEL OF TIME EYE O/T WORLD #29
SAVAGE DRAGON #181
